Agreeably to your direction, I Inclose you an account showing the different sums of money received by me from Major Craig when commanding at Wheeling. Also is inclosed seperate receipts for monies paid since I furnished Major Craig with the receipt rolls.
You will find a Ballance of Fifty one dollars and Eighty cents due the United States from me, which money is in my hands and ready to be refunded to any person you may direct to receive it. I am sorry it has not been in my power to answer your letter sooner as my papers was some distance from me at the time yours came to hand
