Sir,
A Mr. Bullet in a letter dated the 30 August ulto received today states that he sent on about a year ago a couple of pay rolls for the spies employed in Jefferson County for the years 1790 and 1794 that he the informed only partial payments had been made upon them and requested information from the Office that would enable him to let the claimants know the reason of such extraordinary delay adding that he was apprehensive money had been drawn out of the Office by some means and perhaps misapplied."
I request you will give me such information respecting the state of this business as you possess.
