Acknowledges receipt of McHenry's reply concerning funds with which to buy cloth for and make soldiers' clothing; goes over some particulars of the proposed purchase (mentioning the "cheapest" materials), and asks for permission to close the deal. Also discusses an order for medicines, which he promises to fill once he has received the necessary funds, at least $6000.

Sir,
I had the honour to receive from you
[undecipherable] 29th Ulto Warrant for $4000 for the
purpose of defraying the expense of cutting Solidrs
Clothing and of the Goods in the public Store.
I have accordingly got the Business in considerable
forwardness [undecipherable] him Overalls for which
then as are materials in Store.
I hae therefore sought for th cheapest & best
Article & am [undeciphrable] in [undecipherable] for between 3 & 400
pieces of Ravens Duck at eleven Dollars & a half
of piece In a [undecipherable] article Any opinions in that
if not new bought will [undecipherable] out of [undeciphrable]
I have [undecipherable] the hours of your order for
Sundry medicins which shall which shall be
put up immediatly. But as no funds are yet
appropriated for these objects. I must request
another Warrant for at least five thousand
